Hello all, | |
| |
We concluded the wedding formalities with a good old-style Pithdaran duel session, featuring two bouts intended to resolve conflicts and thereby bless the marriage with peace (often through blood shed on the ceremonial termite mound). Boamund promptly called the Captain forth, had his challenge 'accepted' by being tossed on the ground by Ahappi, then they exchanged punches for a few moments, with Boamund landing a savage bruise on the Captain's cheek before Ahappi landed a flawless upper cut, knocking Boamund down the slope of the mound in a small smear of blood. They were encouraged to embrace and declare their differences resolved. Then Nafiyotte, an older local Pithdaran farmer, exchanged blows with a younger hunter named Memkud, over a grain debt the latter owed. Memkud won after a long, sweaty bout and was granted another season to pay his debt. And the wedding was considered twice-blessed! | We concluded the wedding formalities with a good old-style Pithdaran duel session, featuring two bouts intended to resolve conflicts and thereby bless the marriage with peace (often through blood shed on the ceremonial termite mound). ***I forgot to mention a nice gift that showed up in the Baronet's wedding stash, wrapped in nice fabric. It is a squat stone statuette, rather grotesque and garishly painted, and reminiscent to some of Cyroosta Shaven (that same style of excessive eye shadow, tortuously styled hair, and favourite shawl). It bears a small plate engraved in Seshnegi with "Giraine Fertility Idol - place above bedroom chamber door to scare away evil spirits." By process of elimination it seems to be from the crew/captain of The Shadow. | ***I forgot to mention a nice gift that showed up in the Baronet's wedding stash, wrapped in nice fabric.
