Session 181: 20 March 24, day 113

Jestix gets a greater magic fang tattooed on his back while fria does serial identifies. Then we try to 'rug' it back.

He succeeds and we get back to the mages 4 level ! As we land Vulf detects that there is another gateway to the wending ways somewhere nearby. While Jestix is being done, Bjarni and Ahmumstut go to the bloodline rock to embed the soul-vault into Bjarni.

After a day of embedding and a lot of fish they swim up to the dojo level to put in some hours of practice. While swimming they see what might be flooded levels ! Bjarni practices for an evening while Ahmumstut goes to red saints prison to make an item: then they return.

We decent the stairs into an octagonal room with 8 alcoves each with a statue of a spellcaster in 6 different stances. Fria tries her new strategy of a mage armour (14hr start). As we enter a cube of force encloses the first 3 (Bjarni, Vulf, Fria) Fria disintegrates it, and they respond by dominating Vulf. Someone sneak attacks Fria: 9pts and 2 ptr cold + 27 backstab + 2 pts str damage + poison. She is paralyzed. Fortunately Vulfs breakfast of champions saves her from paralysis. Bjarni attacks one and it is an illusion. Fria starts a group telepathy and informs everyone of the sneak + pretends to be paralyzed. Vulf casts see invisible. A Vrock is being summoned. Something then stabs Fria , Jestix sees a human with grey skin beside fria stabbing her. (25 plain damage +2pts cold +25pts backstab + poison). Isondel fires arrows at a wizard and it passes through. Bjarni manages to bash the right wizard and the 5 images also drop, as does the dominate. Fria DD's up to the ceiling (boots of spider climb) and Jestix starts beating up the invisible rogue. (90 pts later he is a bit staggered & disarmed but still operational). The rogue escapes through the wall somehow. There are illusiory walls behind a number of the alcoves. Fria and Jestix give chase, Bjarni explores one corridor and Ahumbstut another (we split up and search the place). Fria tracks the invisible rogue by sound and eventually jestix catches up with him: and in the process the rogue starts to look like jestix. Ahmumstut with thrue sight and see invisibility points it out and isondel shoots him : he dies. Bjarni explores some of the compelx while the fight and looting takes place. There is a gigantic room (60' radius) behind a window and he stands in a viewing chamber. In the chamber is a gigantic mournful face looking upwards, like a drowning man. The vaulted ceiling is supported by 30 odd pillars. There is rambling script on the wall beyond. 'Despair' 'Turn back now' etc in various languages. Vulf determines that the face is of “Iamon” the god sucked-dry by Metterack. Ahmumstut says that locations of a gods death can be powerful, with avatars and artifacts. The viewing 'windows' are walls of force. Having stared at the spectacle for a few minutes the party move on to explore more of the complex. Finding the second viewing chamber and corridor with stairs down, with a marble pedestal facing the 'window': there are a lot more of the rambling incoherent writings on the walls here:

did we miss, we should have asked Bishwar, elena didn't have blame, the hunger, it's not the curse of the chamber surely it was the feasting, 12 sigils, 12 signs 12? It's more than hu=ger it's our souls, but gives us back what we have lost. do not eat. etc.. and another chamber with.

Both wizard and Thief were similarly grey skinned humans: possibly trapped somewhere here ? The pedestal is large, but unfeatured. As vulf touches the pedestal the floor in the big room disappears. A shaft 100' wide drops into the gloom with the charred body of a god stands in a cauldron of fire and chaos. There is an overwhelming feeling of weight, terror and tragedy. Vulf removes his hand and the floor 'closes' again. The stairs in this room lead down to the next platform.
